Fullerton is a college town at heart — home to Cal State Fullerton, a thriving arts scene, and families who take ideas seriously. It’s also home to some of the most academically intense schools in North Orange County, which is precisely why a growing number of families here are stepping off the treadmill and homeschooling.
Edu-K gives those families professional teaching without the pressure cooker: one-to-one tutoring in your home or online, plus small group sessions at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling there or in your home — built around your child rather than a bell schedule.
Academic rigour, human pace
One-to-one tutoring. Individual instruction in math, English, science and more — built on a real assessment and taught by experienced educators. We work with children recovering from academic burnout as skilfully as we stretch the ones hungry for more.
Group tutoring. Small, structured sessions where homeschoolers learn with genuine peers — discussion, debate, and the productive energy of a great classroom, minus the parts that drove you out of one.
Full-time schooling. Our most complete program — and the core of what Edu-K does. Your child enrolls, free, in an accredited California online public school (which covers the curriculum, records and an accredited transcript), and Edu-K educators teach the school day — in small cohorts at our Orange County learning center, or in your home — mornings 8:30am–12:30pm. Monthly fees from $1,070 depending on days per week — see the full-time schooling page for details.
Summer & holiday camps. Academic camps through the breaks — learning, projects and activities that keep curious minds occupied year-round.
Why Fullerton families choose Edu-K
Teaching as a profession. Edu-K is led by Karuna Shah, a British-qualified teacher with more than 20 years of classroom and tutoring experience. In a town full of students tutoring on the side, we offer career educators instead.
Rigour without the anxiety. Plenty of Fullerton families leave school not because it was too easy, but because the pressure was counterproductive. We hold high standards while rebuilding the love of learning that pressure squeezed out.
Homeschool-first, always. Daytime scheduling, respect for your philosophy, curriculum flexibility — built for homeschoolers from the ground up, not adapted from a school-tutoring model.
Clear, honest pricing. Hourly rates, no contracts, no packages.

Common questions from Fullerton homeschool families
My child was miserable in a high-pressure school. Will tutoring just recreate that?
No — and this is important to us. Pressure and rigour aren’t the same thing. One-to-one teaching lets us be demanding about the work while being gentle about the child. Confidence comes back first; results follow.
Can you support a child aiming for a competitive university?
Yes. Advanced coursework, genuine depth, and the kind of intellectual discussion that applications and interviews reward — homeschoolers can absolutely compete, and we make sure yours does.
Do you work with homeschool co-ops?
We do — group sessions can be arranged for established co-ops and pods. Tell us about your group in the consultation and we’ll design something that fits.
Where do sessions take place?
One-to-one tutoring happens in your home or online — whichever suits your week. Group sessions run at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling can be taught there or in your home. We’ll map the right setup for your family in your free consultation.
