Our team
How we staff your child’s team.
Edu-K runs like a small practice — not a franchise, not a solo tutor. A Master Educator assesses every new student and stays on every plan. Sessions are delivered by the educator who fits the work, and you can ask for the one you want.

The right educator for the work.

Ten-plus years with children, degree-educated in education. Steady, patient, and the one families ask for.

Five-plus years with children. A calm, structured style that suits students who’ve lost confidence; quick to find where a gap really starts.

Three years with children and fluent in Spanish — a fit for bilingual households and students taking Spanish through their online school.

Specializes in math and engineering, master’s in marketing. Turns an abstract problem into something a student can see.
Specialist support
SEN, dyslexia, speech and language.
Karuna is an SEN-accredited teacher with speech-and-language support training. A child with specific learning needs gets a plan built around how they learn — and is held to the same standard as everyone else, not moved to a slower track.

The founder
Karuna Shah — the standard the practice is built on.
Karuna trained and qualified as a teacher in England and holds Qualified Teacher Status — a full teaching license earned through a degree and a supervised, assessed training year in real classrooms.
She has spent more than twenty years in the classroom, specialising in mathematics, and has trained and mentored other teachers into the profession — teaching the people who teach. She is also an SEN-accredited teacher with speech-and-language support training, which is why Edu-K can hold a child with specific learning needs to the same standard as everyone else.
Over that time she has prepared students and families for entry to top-performing schools, and worked with international schools on teaching across different learning styles. She founded Edu-K in 2005 and still runs every initial assessment herself.
Edu-K’s focus on student-athletes and families on a different schedule isn’t a marketing angle. It comes from raising four children in performance sport and seeing how easily school slips when training, travel and competition take over — and building a practice so it doesn’t have to.
- Every new student is assessed by Karuna before a plan is written
- Every educator on the team trains under Karuna, to run that plan to her standard
- The English teaching standard — assess, plan, hold the line — runs through the whole practice
Safe hands
Who is with your child.
Every session is run by a qualified educator who has completed a background check, in a very small student-to-educator ratio, to a plan a Master Educator owns and checks. Karuna assesses every new student herself.
First-aid certification and the exact cohort ratio are confirmed with families at enrollment.
