Homeschooling in Irvine comes with a particular kind of pressure. You’re surrounded by one of the highest-performing school districts in California — and you chose a different path anyway, because you knew your child needed something a classroom couldn’t give them. Edu-K exists to make that choice work.
We pair Irvine homeschool families with qualified, experienced educators for one-to-one tutoring in your home or online, plus small group sessions at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling there or in your home — built around your child’s pace, your family’s schedule, and the reason you started homeschooling in the first place.
Tutoring that fits around Irvine life
Irvine homeschoolers don’t keep school hours. Between co-op meetups, park days, athletics, and everything else that made homeschooling worth it, your week is already full. So we work the other way around: one-to-one sessions are scheduled to fit your routine, not ours — at your kitchen table or over video call — while group sessions run at our learning center and the full-time program can run there or in your home.
One-to-one tutoring. Individual instruction in math, English, science and the subjects your child needs most — with a personalized plan built after an initial assessment, not a generic worksheet program. From early reading and phonics through to advanced high-school content.
Group tutoring. Small-group sessions where homeschoolers learn alongside other homeschoolers — the academic push of a classroom, without the classroom. Groups are kept deliberately small so every student gets heard.
Full-time schooling. Our most complete program — and the core of what Edu-K does. Your child enrolls, free, in an accredited California online public school (which covers the curriculum, records and an accredited transcript), and Edu-K educators teach the school day — in small cohorts at our Orange County learning center, or in your home — mornings 8:30am–12:30pm. Monthly fees from $1,070 depending on days per week — see the full-time schooling page for details.
Summer & holiday camps. Keep momentum through the breaks with our academic camps — a mix of learning, projects and activities for homeschool and school-educated children alike.
Why Irvine families choose Edu-K
A qualified teacher leads everything. Edu-K is led by Karuna Shah, a British-qualified teacher with more than 20 years of classroom and tutoring experience. Every program is designed and overseen by a professional educator — not a tutoring marketplace algorithm.
We understand homeschooling from the inside. Most tutoring companies bolt “homeschool support” onto a school-tutoring business. Edu-K is built for homeschoolers first — flexible scheduling, curriculum that adapts to your chosen approach, and educators who respect that you’re in charge of your child’s education.
Student-athletes welcome. Training schedules and competition calendars don’t scare us. We specialize in keeping serious young athletes academically on pace — see our student-athletes page.
Honest pricing, no packages. Pay by the hour, session by session. No contracts, no minimum commitments, no upselling.

Common questions from Irvine homeschool families
Do you follow a set curriculum, or ours?
Yours, if you have one. Many Irvine families come to us with a curriculum already chosen — we teach to it and fill the gaps. If you’d rather we design the program, we will, after an initial assessment of where your child actually is.
Can you help if my child is ahead of grade level?
That’s one of the most common reasons Irvine families call. Homeschooling lets advanced children move quickly; our job is to keep stretching them with material a grade-locked classroom never would.
Where do sessions take place?
One-to-one tutoring happens in your home or online — whichever suits your week. Group sessions run at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling can be taught there or in your home. We’ll map the right setup for your family in your free consultation.
How does the free consultation work?
A 30-minute conversation — about your child, your homeschool setup, and what you want to achieve. You leave with an honest recommendation, whether or not you book with us. Book here
Do you offer sessions during school hours?
Yes — that’s the point. Homeschoolers keep homeschool hours, and so do we. Morning, afternoon and early evening slots are all available.
