Lake Forest is full of young families writing their own script — newer neighborhoods, growing kids, and parents who moved here for space to raise children their way. More of those families every year are extending that philosophy to education itself.
Edu-K supports Lake Forest homeschoolers with professional teaching that comes to you: one-to-one tutoring in your home or online, plus small group sessions at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling there or in your home — built around your child’s pace and your family’s week.
Teaching that grows with your family
One-to-one tutoring. Individual instruction in math, English, science and beyond — starting with an honest assessment and building from there. Early phonics and number sense through to advanced high-school content, all taught by experienced professionals.
Group tutoring. Small-group sessions where homeschoolers get the best of both worlds: structured teaching and learning alongside peers. Deliberately small groups, genuine participation, our most accessible rate.
Full-time schooling. Our most complete program — and the core of what Edu-K does. Your child enrolls, free, in an accredited California online public school (which covers the curriculum, records and an accredited transcript), and Edu-K educators teach the school day — in small cohorts at our Orange County learning center, or in your home — mornings 8:30am–12:30pm. Monthly fees from $1,070 depending on days per week — see the full-time schooling page for details.
Summer & holiday camps. Academic camps through the breaks — learning, projects and activities that keep growing minds busy.
Why Lake Forest families choose Edu-K
Led by a 20-year teaching veteran. Edu-K is led by Karuna Shah, a British-qualified teacher with more than two decades of classroom and tutoring experience. Your children learn from career educators.
Homeschool-first, always. We don’t do “school tutoring with a homeschool option.” Daytime scheduling, curriculum flexibility, and respect for your family’s approach are the foundation, not an add-on.
Sports-family friendly. Between the sports parks and the club teams, Lake Forest raises busy young athletes. We schedule around training and competition without drama — see our student-athletes page.
Pricing without fine print. Hourly rates, session by session. No contracts, no packages, no lock-ins.

Common questions from Lake Forest homeschool families
We’re just starting out with a kindergartener. Is tutoring worth it this early?
The early years are when professional input pays off most — reading and number foundations set the trajectory for everything after. Even a weekly session makes a visible difference.
Can you teach multiple siblings?
Yes — it’s the norm in the families we work with. Back-to-back one-to-one sessions, or siblings together in groups where levels allow. We’ll design what fits your household.
What if my child is ahead in one subject and behind in another?
Extremely common, and exactly what personalized teaching solves. We assess each subject separately and pitch each one at your child’s real level — no forcing one speed across the board.
Where do sessions take place?
One-to-one tutoring happens in your home or online — whichever suits your week. Group sessions run at our Orange County learning center, and full-time schooling can be taught there or in your home. We’ll map the right setup for your family in your free consultation.
